1959 at Footy

Peter played footy after arrival into Geraldton. He captained the brigades club to premiership in 1959. When he finally entered racing, I think in around 1968 he used the colours of brigades in designing his racing silks. Gold with a blue sash and cap.

Thanks to Geoff Whittle for tracking down these pics from Albie Watson, who was the bruiser in the team. The James Dean lookalike with the cig is dad, and Albie is next to him with the torn jumper

TapDog making history

The Dog made history when he won the Geraldton Gold Cup for the third time.

This day was the most emotional day I've had in racing. It was historic and it was poignant. Our family was deeply touched by what it all meant, and felt it was the perfect tribute to Peter H Day.
